This is without doubt the greatest video game ever made. It has everything you could ask for in a video game: Action, Strategy, Puzzles and more.
And all of this content is fitted into a 256 MB video game. The Ocarina of Time was the most realistic video game of its time and set a world record for the most pre-ordered video game in the world. Not until recently has this record been broken by another Zelda game, the Wind Waker.
With all this talk about the broadness of the game, what would you think would be in the game itself? In this game you control Link, the hero of Hyrule. The game starts with Link as a child in his house. From here, Link can explore various 3D environments, unlike the old Zelda games. Link has the abilities to look around, swing his sword in various ways and do stunts such as backflipping.
Link is accompanied by the fairy Navi throughout the whole journey. Navi provides clues and helps Link throughout his quest. Without Navi, Link would not be able to fulfill his mission.
But what is his mission? His mission is to save his land, the land of Hyrule. A evil theif by the name of Ganondorf Dragmire has learned about the mythical power called the Triforce (for more information, see Story.).
The Triforce, once in someones hands, has the power to grant them any wish they want. Ganondorf, a theif, would risk his life for this power, and so he does. He sets out to find the Triforce. Link is warned and he too sets out to grab the Triforce before Ganondorf does. What happens next is in the game, I won't spoil anymore of it.
Gameplay is original and easy in The Ocarina of Time. Link encounters many enemies along the way and at the end of each of the eight dungeons that Link beats he has a huge boss to defeat. Each boss has to be defeated in a special way, using the weapon found in the dungeon.
This game is enormous, really. So, if you are buying a N64 game and want to get a really good one, definitely get the Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.
